Vintage Layout of my Great Grandparents by Deann

Good morning everyone, for my latest DT project for Gina's Designs, I created a wall art piece using Gina's Page Frame Flourished . It fit perfectly on  a cardboard cake circle ! On half of the cake board I exposed the corrugation and on the other half I covered with paper.  The photo is of my Great Grandparents. It was taken in Rosetta Italy ! Love this photo, I covered the edges with some gesso and then layered it with dark brown paper.
For the frame I used a brown paint daubber in expresso. I then hit the edges with a little gesso.
I added lots of flowers and lace from Craftsupplies1 and one of my paper butterflies .The words Together and Forever are from the 10 words  chip board set.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Our last project today is from Bonnie.  Here is what Bonnie had to say:
Hey everyone this is my last GDT project for Gina's Designs. It was an honor and a pleasure designing for you Gina, your products are fabulous! I'm so thankful for this wonderful opportunity.

I've altered this gorgeous Desk Organizer that can be found in Gina's Designs shop as well as all the other chipboard embellishments that I used.

I used the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper stack to cover the desk organizer, inking the edges with Vintage Photo and used handmade texture paint all over to give it a shabby look.

For the chipboard embellishments I first used Gesso to paint them then used my Lindy's Sprays to add color and shimmer.

Celestial Stage by Nancy and Banner by Veronica

Today we have two projects to share.  First up is Nancy with one of our fun altered art pieces.  This piece can be decorated to suit any number of themes.

Hi everyone, Nancy here!  I had so much fun decorating this Stage.  I love anything to do with the sky, stars, moon and all things celestial, so I thought I'd call my creation "Reach For The Stars".  I added lots of textures to this piece with chunky glitter, glass beads, bead gel, shabby embossing powders, mica, gilder's paste, etc.

Wall Art Key Heart by Heidi

Hi everyone, Heidi here with a key to the journey of our lives.  When I got this from Gina I knew right away what I would do with it.  I wanted to make something that I would be able to use in my home, a little addition of "steampunk" and vintage together.

I started with the chipboard key and painted the entire key with gray paint.  I then took the steampunked/gear heart (the top piece) and painted it yellow.  Once all the pieces were dry, I took individual gears and painted them gold and attached them randomly over the heart.  I then used the wings and a couple of gears to accentuate the middle point

The vintage lace was threaded with a gold ribbon and the word journey along with the key were added.

Now it is something I can hang in the house with a little extra flair!

Tablet For Chelsea UPDATE

Chelsea is a 14 year old girl and is in the hospital in Queensland, Australia. She has had several surgeries on her leg and is looking at several weeks in the hospital and several more weeks in rehab. Chelsea currently does not have access to the internet as she is not mobile and able to go to the computers in the hospital. If we can get a tablet for Chelsea it will make a huge difference in her life. With it she will be able to stay in touch with her friends, watch videos and play games, and check out blogs and pintrest boards related to her hobbies (yes, she is a cardmaker and a paper crafter just like so many of us). Please donate a small amount to help us get a tablet for Chelsea. Every dollar counts!  There is a donate button in the top left corner of the blog.
Chelsea's Tablet Has Been Funded!  Thanks to everyone who helped!  You can check out the video of Chelsea's surprise Here

Memory Tray by Shanna and Cards by Marfa

First up today is Shanna to share a very cool and beachy project!

Welcome!!! Welcome!!! Welcome!!!

Shanna here sharing a super fun and amazing project I recently created.
I used to be a beach bum and was at the beach daily, but where I live now the beach is 3 hours away!!!

I have sworn to bring the beach to my home, and so far my fireplace mantle and one bathroom has been beached out!  Now for the powder room. I decided to create this specifically to decorate my powder room so people have something to gaze at besides a sink.

The memory tray got a couple coats of a cream colored acrylic paint and the chipboard pieces got a coat of gesso.

After the gesso on the chipboard dried I added some glass bead gel and color by spray or chalk ink.

Yes there must always be rules even if they are just for having fun!

Next up is Marfa, with simple to create, but beautiful cards for Mother's Day.

Good morning, sweet face!  I am so happy to finally be able to show you the two Mother's Day cards that I made this year!  I usually make only two Mother's Day cards each year, so I try to make them very special.  Let me tell you a little secret.  Come here...closer...cccllloooosssseeerrrr... for the longest time this year I just couldn't get my card making mojo going.  BUT I knew one thing for sure.  I wanted to use the chippie roses that I got in my design team package from Gina's Designs.  I really fell I love with these roses at first sight.

After a while of frustrating trial and error I realized that I was actually fighting the changes within my style.  I just couldn't get excited about making something really complicated and busy because I have been changing towards clean and simple for a quite a while already.  So I did something really simple.  I painted the chipboard pieces with a gold paint pen, except for the butterflies.  I used a red paint pen for those.  Then I covered them with a glitter pen for a big, in your face glitterfying! I also covered the butterflies and the little heart with Crackle Accent.  Why?  I don't know, just because.   One rub on sticker and one clear sticker finished everything.  I used matte photo paper and a glittery mulberry paper to make the card itself.   Its hard to glue things to mulberry paper, so I used hot glue and that worked very well.  Scroll down for a short video and a list of supplies.

Family Photo Cube by Kim

Hi everyone and happy Friday! For me weekends are all about family, so today I would like to share with you my Family Photo Cube I have created featuring photos of my Grandson Brayden.  I used some of the Prima Cartographer paper on this cube, and there are lots of images of hot air balloons on the paper, so it worked out great with Gina's Net Style Hot Air Balloons which I have used on the top of the cube.  I also used some of the Border & Corner Gear Miniatures along the side of the balloon, and a wooden sentiment from my stash that says Our Family.
Above here you can also see the photo on the front and I have used some of the Art Deco Corners, embossed in black, for photo corners. I finished it off with some flowers and a metal zipper.

Below here you can see some photos of my beautiful Grandson Brayden.  I have placed his photo inside some of the new Word Frames.  The first one says "moment", and on the opposite side of the cube, I have one which says "family". I used another of the Border & Corner Gear Miniatures, a metal arrow and flower in the corner of the frame. I wanted to keep it simple, to make the photo the star of the show.

Here is the reverse side of the photo cube. You can see I have used one of the new Photo Reels, embossed it in black, and then used a metal flower on top of it. I then used one of the words from the Word and Phrases set "love", and topped it off with another flower. Below the back of the hot air balloon, I used a metal butterfly and cameo. On the base you can see I placed a vintage doily, some more flowers and some of Gina's Feathery Flourishes to complete the look.

Below here is a close up of the Deco corners, they make perfect photo corners for projects, I just love how they turned out and they hold the photo perfectly!
I hope you will try making your own family photo cube, this was a lot of fun to create!
Thanks for stopping by today.

Home in California a mini album by Melissa

Hi Melissa here today with a mini album using Gina's Designs Lasercuts.  The photos are from a home I once had in Northern California. The chipboard was painted with gesso, then I applied chalk ink.  I put on a coat of glossy accents to complete them.
The first photo you see when you open the album is my cat Bosley running toward me when I whistled to him.   I could never see him till he showed up running. The second photo is Bosley in one of his favorite spots in the sun to sleep. To me he almost looks like he's glowing, the sun is so bright on his white fur. The last photo is what the view was  when I was  in the living room.

I really enjoyed making this project.  Thanks for looking!

Shuttered Window Frame by Nancy and Photo Reel by Veronica

Hi everyone!  We have two projects to share today.  First up is Nancy with a home decor item.

Hi, Nancy here!  Today I'm sharing this shuttered window frame by Gina's Designs.  This gorgeous piece is so versatile, and can be decorated to go with anyone's decor and style.  I decided to decorate mine in a vintage beach theme with old family photos of my Mom, my Brother, and Myself.  We spent most of our Summer days at Crane's Beach in Ipswich, MA., and those memories are among my favorite from my childhood.  I tried to invoke those feelings of tranquility when I created this, and to recreate the scene as I remember it.  Thanks for looking!

Beach Shape Set

Next up is Veronica sharing an adorable wall decor project she created using one of our large sized Photo Reels.

Hello Again! Veronica here to show off another fun and truly simple project from Gina's Designs!
The Photo Reel brings me back to when I was a little girl, when my first love of picture taking began.
These are now coming back into the art world, and I have to admit I still have some of these in my parents attic somewhere packed away. That will be a treasure hunt adventure to find!
I chose to work with the Page Frame Photo Reel which is large enough to be the focal point on a 12 x 12 layout or canvas.  I wanted to make a wall hanging to display my love of black cats. The Photo Reel comes in three other sizes, standard, small and miniature.
"Pawprints on my heart", you can find in Gina's Words & Phrases.
Not much to complete this project....gotta love simple!
I just covered the Photo Reel with a thin layer of White Acrylic paint, and then inked the edges and the Pawprint phrase with Archival Ink's Jet Black.
I then sprinkled with black glitter.
Love the simple way I can display all my Black Kitty photos.

A little bit of Spring, some fun with Heidi

Hi everyone, Heidi here!   This week I thought I would make a little Spring project that will also fit for this weekend's Easter celebration.   I had these candy tubes and of course some jelly beans and they fit so well with the dangling spring sentiments and embellishments in the spring shape set over at Gina's Designs.

I painted all the pieces first with adirondak paints and then used a speckled stamp for the umbrella and an eraser for the boot!  Aren't they cute?  I just attached them to the ribbon and they hang down like charms.  :)

Scrapbook Layout by Marfa and another Wall Art Key by Shanna

First up today is Marfa with a meaningful layout she is calling "Funky Colors"

Good morning crafty friends!  I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Today I want to share with you a simple scrapbook layout, but it means a lot to me.  The hands that you see in the photos belong to my mother and me.  We get our nails done every couple of weeks.  It's one way in which I pamper my mother, who is totally selfless and never does anything for herself.  My mom is someone who always thinks of other people first.  If she knows you're in need she offers to help even before you ask, so every couple of weeks I take her with me and we get our nails done.

When I received my design team package from Gina's Designs and I saw this  Pallette and Brushes Set I knew right away that I wanted to use it on this layout.  I simply colored them with acrylic paint and a sharpie marker.  I added Crackle Accents to the bristles of the brushes, just for fun.  I also liked the idea of using flowers for the "paint" on the palette.

Gina's Designs Supplies:  Pallette & Brushes Set

Other Supplies:
Webster's Pages paper: Clean and Simple Sunday Picnic Pedal Pushers
Acrylic Paint
Prima Flowers: Perles Romance Novel
Crackle Accents
Free Printable Project Life embellishments

Next up is Shanna with another of the Wall Art Keys that the team has been decorating this month.

Hey everyone!  Shanna here today to share with you a wall art piece. I had so much fun playing with the key. My thought was to make it an inspirational piece.

"The key is to treasure the voyage."

First I painted everything black. Then I decided to paint the balloon along the lines of teal and vintage metals.

I then altered the gears by doing a layer of gesso, layers of Twinkling H20's and then adding some Glass Bead Gel, completing the gears some Tattered Angels Paints.

The base of the key got a layer or Croco Paint giving it that old metal rusting off look. Then I finished off the key with metal flowers and some chit chat pieces.
